Template
Accessibility statement template for ecommerce teams
An accessibility statement should be specific enough to help customers and credible enough to support internal compliance work. The strongest statements are backed by recent evidence, known limitations, and a clear contact path.
Recommended structure
- Scope: which storefront, checkout, account, and support experiences are covered.
- Standard: the accessibility baseline the team works toward, such as WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Known limitations: current issues, affected flows, and remediation status.
- Contact route: how customers can report an accessibility barrier.
- Evidence update: when the experience was last checked and how often monitoring happens.
Starter wording
[Company] is committed to making [website/storefront] accessible and usable for as many people as possible. We monitor key customer journeys including product pages, cart, checkout, account access, and support surfaces. Known issues are prioritized by customer impact and reviewed after major releases.
If you experience an accessibility barrier, contact [email/contact route] with the page URL, device/browser details, and a short description of the issue.
Keep it current
A statement becomes less credible when it is not connected to evidence. CompliancePulse creates dated reports that help teams show what was checked, what changed, and what needs remediation next.
